Back in my project build column, I found it very hard to search for my ideal bike parts in our local shops. So what I did is I turned it on the online shopping sites. I didn’t purchase any stuffs because I am afraid of the shipping cost which is very high. It is lawful enough to have those high shipping cost because imagine carrying the product from outside the country to our place here in the Philippines. I did this because I need to be specific in the terms and specification of the products. We have very good shops in our place which could bear those cool parts of my choice. As I have said earlier, I should build a bike that could weigh about 10 to 12 kilos. I just hope that I could find it in one of the shops.
Yesterday I shared a picture of my new shinny BMX fork. Now, you are viewing a snapshot of my rotor or gyro sets. I am not familiar in buying those BMX stuff because I don’t have the expertise of choosing what’s original and ordinary/imitation parts. Well I got this gyro sets for only 200 plus in a local shop in the town. As I have mentioned earlier the brand of this set is Odyssey. I have tried to fit this one on my bike but because I need to repaint the frame, I dismounted it and put it on the shelves.
I have mentioned earlier that I purchased a new fork for my BMX build. When I went over to our place I brought with me my camera and I was able to get some snapshots of my new BMX fork. This is just an ordinary standard fork, nickel plated, and it’s about one and a half kilograms. I am still worried about the weight matters because I need to catch a specific weight between ten to twelve kilograms. There’s still six kilograms to manage for the handle bars, tires, and everything else. I hope I could attain a perfect weight after I got all the stuffs for this bike.
This is the 20 year old BMX frame that I kept on mentioning on the earlier posts. As you can see it is characterized by a twin top tube which in some way adds a vintage look on it. I don’t know if it will be fine for street BMX riding because the weight of this frame was about two and a half kilograms. Well, according to Master (as I call this man on the forum) the weight of a bike for street riding ranges from 23-24 pounds or about 10-12 kilograms. It specifies the whole weight of the bike not the frame only. So, it’s quite difficult to attain it because I need to attach some more parts on the frame. I hope I can reach the specified number that master gave me a day ago. Or maybe I should buy another frame for my bike.
