Shutting Down thru the Button

Since the very first time I learned to use a computer, I can’t remember even a single moment that I busted my system unit just because of an improper operation. What I am talking about is the improper shutting down of a computer through the power button. PC experts suggest every user to prevent it as long as it is not necessary because it can cause severe damage to the PC parts especially the hard drive. Well, I might be a stubborn PC user because I kept doing it but as I have said, I never had encountered problems due to this incorrect usage. I would say that I want to try it myself so I’ll experience and learn as well.

Would you believe it, a friend of mine just me that he’d stay with his free version of an antivirus? Personally, I would say that it’s a very risky choice but I was wondering what made him hold unto it. He’s not an average user and indeed he doesn’t go for risks though he loves challenges. Well, I am really interested about it and actually I’m fixing up my desktop unit to accompany the testing of the said antivirus.

We usually dispose our personal computers by dumping it into the trash bin. On the other hand, large IT companies all over the world find it really hard to dispose their computers especially the hard drives. Because hard drives contain a lot of data in it, companies usually destroy them. It isn’t just a simple smashing and crashing because the recovery of data is the crucial problem here. So, some have their hard drives disposed and crashed with shredder, a powerful shredder.

The Printer Cartridge

The printer cartridge works by storing ink inside of it to be used by the printer. When the printer sends a cartridge and appropriate signal, the ink is dropped and shaped into the form of the image or letters needed to be translated onto the sheet of paper. It is important to note, that two separate cartridges are needed for those who need color on their printed pieces. One cartridge will have only black ink and will only function during black and white printings, while the other contains red, yellow, and blue ink and can create different color combinations. The color cartridge is, in general, much more expensive then the simple black cartridge, so it is important not to waste it. It is a good idea, therefore, to not waste color ink unless it is absolutely needed. For example, printers can sometime be set to print everything, including black and white projects, through the color cartridge. Setting the printer to not do this will save you a lot of money in the future.

Never trust downloads even if it is from a respected official download site because it might still be a threat to your computer system. I’ve download a software which was supposedly buddle with a lot of useful features but then it turned out that my antivirus treated it as a threat. I didn’t continue installing it since I’ve trusted my antivirus program and it’s a lot reliable for me.

First Liquid Cooled PC in our Place

Throughout my life I’ve never ever seen someone in here having a computer being cooled by liquid system. But, last Saturday when I visited a computer shop in a mall I saw this small cube in the middle of that particular floor of that building. I believe that the people there were computer repair techs because they have a lot of spare parts for desktops and laptop computers. Now, as I was approaching to them I noticed that there’s something attached at the back of the PC placed above the glass cabinet. I felt curious about it and so I tried to turn around their cube and have a clear look at the rear portion of the PC. It was actually a liquid cooling system particularly the radiator unit that was mounted on that rear part of the PC. That was the first computer that I saw here in our place which uses liquid cooling system. I’m not so sure about taking a picture of that PC because it might not be allowed. So, I just watch over it and be amazed of the build.

Man Can’t Stay Without Computers

Filed under: Computer,Personal,Technology,What's Going On? — Sparkle @ 10:13 pm, April 10, 2011.

We’ve learned that the basic needs of man are shelter, food, and cloth. But, is that still applicable during these days? I’ve read an article about PC’s and laptops which made me laugh and think that it was kinda possible. Well, it was actually a cleaning tip but the intro was terribly intriguing and a bit funny for me. It is because the author seemingly neglects the fact about the basic needs of man. Instead she emphasized that man can stay longer without those primary needs but can’t hold a minute without using computer. That was exaggerated but the meat between the buns is clearly expressed.
